In my other life as an employee, being a member of professional organizations was a given. Because I was a teacher, I belonged to several state and local educational associations that added credibility to my status in the community. In some cases, the state licensing bureaus required that I and all my colleagues belonged to these groups.
Network Marketing companies who meet specific criteria are allowed to be members of the Direct Selling Association (DSA), the Gold Standard group that brings its seal of approval to this profession. As Associates of these companies, we are, by default, connected to the DSA and thus have a “stamp” on us for choosing a company wisely.
But when it comes to simply being an independent Network Marketer, the stamp of professionalism just didn’t exist…until some visionaries came along and created the Association of Better Networkers.
The Association of Better Networkers provides Network Marketers the credibility factor that is needed in this profession. Anyone who has been in Network Marketing for any length of time knows all too well the voodoo vibe many uneducated or disgruntled folks have of what we do to earn our living. At the core of this association is a commitment to teach, and to educate, and to raise the bar of Network Marketing’s image overall. There is power in numbers, and the more individual Network Marketers come together and lift up our chosen way of life, the better the PR will be for Network Marketing as a whole.
As with any professional organization, many perks are available through membership. The Association of Better Networkers is no exception. Some of the many benefits available to network marketers through the ABN include:
- Access to a vault of incredible trainings by some of the top leaders in this profession today including Mike Dillard, Ann Sieg, Mike Klingler, and Jonathan Budd;
- Credibility through the Association of Better Networkers Code of Ethics;
- Targeted F-REE Traffic from Google
Plus so much more…
Being a professional Network Marketer means being a leader, and taking that leadership role seriously. I am grateful to the founders of the Association of Better Networkers, as well as to the instructors who have added valuable content over their tenure here, content I can access at my leisure as a member of this organization. Having that seal of approval on my blog is something I showcase proudly and recommend to other Network Marketers with 100% confidence.

It’s always a good idea to let your readers know that a reliable third party has accredited your professionalism.
I think earning this recognition is an important thing for all internet marketers to aspire to, and letting your visitors know that gives your blog a high-quality status.
Thanks for letting us know about this, Mary Lou.

The more we can teach others outside of our chosen profession what we do, the better the overall perception will be in the long run of what we do. Coming together as a group to show the world we are professional only adds to our value!

Mary Lou, Thank you for this helpful post. I have been checking out BetterNetworker and I am impressed with this organization. It is important that we present ourselves as the professionals that we are.
I agree with David that ultimately it is up to represent ourselves professionally and offer tremendous value and third party validation is also valuable.
I like the networking that Better Networker provides and the opportunity for greater exposure as well.
Thank you for this helpful post.

Mary you exhibit all the attributes of a great net worker. I thank you for sending Dr. Jerry Hoskin to my blog. He left a very gracious comment. The only thing that could make it better is if He was a twenty year old blond like you. You know you are the best.

Hi Mary Lou,
I totally agree that in this day and age of skepticism, being able to add credibility by associating yourself with professional organizations is paramount.
Better Networker represents for the Network Marketing industry the equivalent of having a lock on your shopping cart or the https to indicate it’s a secure site.
I hope Mr cartoon Jason has seen this post
