if only
During challenging times, when things don’t go the way we wanted, in the face of disaster and disappointment, it’s easy to hop a one way train to If Only with a stop along the way at the beguiling town of Should’ve.

Both destinations are mighty alluring in a battered state.

Far simpler to just go there and be done with the mess, the heartbreak, the loss.

Avoid dealing with what is and settle in for a long stay in what might have been.

The promise of relief these little hamlets make appears magnificent.

Make no mistake.

We are better off buying a round trip ticket to This Hurts Like Hell, knowing full well it’s not our final destination and better days are indeed ahead.
