When it comes to making a name for yourself in today’s professional environment, whether you are a budding entrepreneur, established business owner, or traditional career person, thinking creatively as well as like an entrepreneur will serve you very well and lead you to opportunities you never knew or believed could exist for you.

Hence why I named this page “The Creative Entrepreneur.”

Please don’t let that word “creative” scare you. A lot of people perceive that word as artsy-fartsy, and things could not be further from the truth. Being creative simply means looking at the world differently. Seeing solutions where others see problems. Recognizing your strengths and the strengths of others so you can form powerful alliances and communities that can achieve massive things.

Leading business-trend visionary and best-selling author Seth Godin writes in his latest book Linchpin: Are You Indispensable? that: “Everyone’s an artist now.”

According to Godin’s definition, an artist is not just some person who messes around with paint and brushes — an artist is somebody who does “emotional work.”

Work that you put your heart and soul into. Work that matters. Work that you gladly sacrifice all other alternatives for. As a writer AND entrepreneur, I know exactly what he means. It’s not what you do, it’s the way that you do it.

We have entered an new era of work. That fact cannot be disputed. The great economic shifts we have seen in the last couple of years have been coming for quite some time, and like the earth getting shook off its axis by 3 inches when that powerful earthquake hit Chile recently, so too has the way we approach our working lives been rattled and shook — and changed forever.

My goal is to help my clients learn how to get in the driver’s seats of their own lives again. Or perhaps for the first time. To learn how to think like a creative entrepreneur and approach new projects and challenges from a position of power and strength.
