Kindness is getting more airplay these days across social media.

Maybe because life feels harder and more overwhelming.

Maybe because we put so much pressure on ourselves to keep up, hurry up, get more sh*t done in less time.

Maybe because negativity surrounds us from every direction. Even when we set up boundaries against it.

Given current conditions, we need to remember to be kind.

Being kind doesn't equal being weak.

The opposite is true.

Some of the toughest, most hard-assed people I know have the biggest, most generous hearts.

I'm talking Harley-riding, leather-jacket-wearing tough MFs who would give the shirt off their back to someone in need.

I've seen people like this hand teddy bears to sick children. My mom has seen men like this give rides to little old church ladies from their hotel to the convention center.

In a world that feels hard and heartless, kindness can be one of the best defenses.

Search for #kindness and you’ll see plenty of conversations around its importance to #leadership #retention and #growth

Extending kindness to others will serve you well.

Don’t forget to extend kindness to yourself, too, which will serve you even better.
