Nothing Spectacular, Everything Well

nothing spectacular
To have a winning season, a team has to focus more on doing nothing spectacular and everything well.

This approach isn’t sexy, and rarely makes the late night highlight reels.

It doesn’t generate that one signature play that everyone talks about forever moving forward.

It doesn’t create just one star on whose shoulders the entire season rides.

It doesn’t depend on a miracle that grants you the opportunity to play one more day.

Doing nothing spectacular and everything well gets you to the winner’s circle, though.

For those who are fortunate to bear witness to what gets teams there — the daily commitment to hard work, focus, and collective discipline — they are privy to something far greater than any dazzling last second play could ever be:

The humble yet eternally bold creation of immortal champions.
