I launched the Play Your Position Podcast in January 2014 because I was curious about something most people sensed but couldn’t quite name yet: how leadership, identity, and decision-making actually play out in real life when the stakes are real.
Using American football as a loose organizing principle, the show has become a place for long-form, thoughtful conversations about how people find their voice, take responsibility, navigate change, and make meaningful choices. Over the years, I’ve sat down with guests across business, sports, the arts, education, healthcare, entertainment, and technology, not to chase trends, but to understand how people think, lead, and respond when things get complicated.
What listeners consistently tell me is this: these conversations help them think more clearly about their own lives. Episodes are engaging, practical, and designed to prompt reflection, better questions, and action that actually fits who you are and where you are, not someone else’s definition of success.
In addition to interviews, I also publish solo episodes I call Audibles. These are reflections on topics like self-awareness, responsibility, truth, culture, and love, conversations meant to slow the noise and invite a more honest look at how we’re showing up, both personally and professionally.
After more than a decade of consistently showing up to the mic, people sometimes refer to me as one of the early voices in podcasting. I take that as a responsibility more than a badge. My goal has always been to create audio that respects the listener’s intelligence and time, conversations that still hold up long after the recording light is off.
Podcasting has allowed me to combine my love of storytelling with my work as a writer and coach committed to leadership, self-education, and personal transformation. Whether you’re listening to one episode or many, I’m glad you’re here and I hope the conversations you find meet you exactly where you are.
