The 4th of July is the most American of any holiday we celebrate. The story of our freedom and about how this nation was founded is one that never gets old and continues to resonate around the world with people who are searching for liberty.
Despite our collective cynicism these days about our dysfunctional government, our 4th of July story reminds us each year about how fortunate we are to live in America. It’s one of the biggest reasons why it continues to attract people to our country every single day.
Having traveled throughout the world, including countries like China and the Czech Republic that have long histories of oppression, I can say without hesitation that I am grateful every day to live in a country that allows me to make choices about what I do for a living, how I express myself, and where I raise my family.
While America has its fair share of problems, it also offers tremendous advantages to anyone who makes the decision to move their life forward in the direction of making their dreams come true.
It’s been said that total freedom is being able to do what you want, when you want, where you want, with whomever you want. That was what our forefathers fought for; that’s what many of us continue to fight for today.
No matter how difficult that path gets, every obstacle and challenge that comes our way is there to teach us how to break the chains of fear and become more free. When the path is most difficult, we have the opportunity to rise above our circumstances and emerge stronger and wiser than ever before.
