One of the many insights I picked up from attending the ACT-W Conference this past weekend in Portland, Oregon is that every single business is now a tech business.

Doesn’t matter what you do or who you work for.

We are all tech.

Artists.
Entrepreneurs.
Parents.
Educators.
Athletes.
Designers.
Baristas.
Pastors.

Tech, tech, and more tech!

Mind blowing in some ways. Totally not a surprise in others.

What’s incredible is how much opportunity is out there for anyone with ambition and curiosity and a willingness to learn and grow. I loved seeing so many women show up to discover how what they do can add value to the greater culture.

I had the chance to speak with recruiters from each of the companies listed above at the ACT-W Conference. When I asked what they love most about working for their respective company, every single one said hands down the culture kept them around. I’ll explore that idea in an upcoming post.

For now, I’ll leave you with this thought.

I believe we are on the edge of a new phase in business growth and expansion. The big guys have established themselves in the market.

Now it’s time for the smaller players to step into the ring and make a difference.
