Committed to helping you discover what can be beyond what is right now
Hey there!
I'm Mary Lou Kayser, dedicated to showing you ways of uncovering new capabilities and pushing boundaries so you experience more of what you really want.
My mission?
To help you make meaningful and measurable progress toward bringing your ideas to life so you don’t look back and wonder WTF just happened to all that time and why you didn’t do something about it.
Your Success Story Starts Here
Did you know the opposite of success isn’t failure?
The opposite of success is actually made up of the 4 S’s:
- Status Quo
- Same-old Same-old
- Safety
- Security
The truth is, most people spend their lives in one or more of these quadrants.
They never change or experience anything different because playing it safe was what they were programmed to do.
Years and then decades pass and they’ve built a life based on someone else’s model instead of building one of their own.
By the time people find me, they are bone-tired of living the same day over and over again.
They long to experience something different.
When we work together, we'll discover what you truly want.
With 30+ years of experience under my belt, I've helped thousands of clients like you ditch the same-old same-old.
Let's dust off those dreams and give your ideas the spotlight they deserve!

Let's Get Personal
Outside of work, some of my many interests include swimming, kayaking, wine tasting, playing tabletop board games with my kids, hiking, cheering for the Oregon Ducks in Autzen Stadium, traveling, writing, yoga, taking pictures, inventing toys, messing around with AI, listening to my eclectic music playlists (Metallica to Mozart), and keeping my saw sharp with what people are thinking and talking about through all kinds of books and podcasts.
After all, exploring the world helps me serve you better!
We All Have a Story.
Here's Mine in Three Acts.
Act I: East Coast Upbringing
I was born and raised 50 miles east of New York City in a small village on the north shore of Long Island. My parents were both educators who encouraged me and my brother to be ourselves, a tremendous gift by any standard. We spent our summers in Maine as a family, living in a tent on the shores of a lake. Through their example, I learned how to work hard, solve problems, think for myself, and appreciate eating all my meals outside no matter the weather. Their unconditional love and support continue to influence me today.
Act II: The Mountains Called
When I decided to attend college in the Pacific Northwest -- what seemed like a foreign country to my east coast friends and teachers -- I was channeling John Muir's famous quote: "The mountains are calling and I must go." A photo of Mount Rainier draped in alpine glow seduced me to leave all that was familiar and head west. Upon arrival, I felt a deep and immediate connection to place I hadn't experienced before. While I've been a happy resident of both Oregon and Washington for more than 30 years, I haven't forgotten my east coast roots and am proud to call myself "bi-coastal."
Act III: Coach. Speaker. Poet. Podcaster. Entrepreneur. Mom.
I've been fortunate to do work that matters most of my life including raising two incredible humans who are now productive, conscientious global citizens. From my days as a white water rafting guide on the Kenai River in Alaska to the years I devoted to public education to what I do today as a coach, speaker, and poet, how I've earned my living has reinforced my commitment to servant leadership. Titles have never been as important to me as the experiences I and the people I'm serving are having. No matter what I'm doing, I show up with an attitude of excellence, possibility, and fun.
My Why = Your Win
Nothing gives me more joy than helping people succeed in a way that's most authentically aligned with who they are.
Since the days when I was a girl playing teacher with my stuffed animals, I have loved being a catalyst for creativity, growth and making a difference in the world.
Through my work these days as a coach, speaker, poet, and podcaster, I'm able to serve people in ways that bring out their highest and best.
Money, stuff, things have their place -- and I do like them.
But they don't drive me.
People and stories do.
Deep thinking and intellectual discourse do.
Seeing my clients experience powerful breakthroughs do.
At the end of the day, we remember our experiences the most.
If you'd like to discuss what can be possible for you, I'd welcome the chance to learn more about you and your ideas.
