At the End of the Day, It’s All about the F Word

by Mary Lou Kayser in Writing2 Comments

I know what you’re thinking.

And I like it.

I like it because you like the f word as much as I do and that is a very good thing.

I like it because it means you have made the transition from being controlled to controlling yourself.

You have taken back what is rightly yours and now are waving that flag of glory for everyone in your life to see.

The f word will do that to a person. I know, because I made it a central piece of my existence six years ago when I walked away from a secure job with benefits to pursue my dreams of becoming an entrepreneur and, perhaps more importantly, to fully embrace the f word for myself and my family.

It’s funny when you think about how many wonderful words begin with the letter f. I have used several of them already in this post without really thinking about it until there they were, staring me back in the face with a look of, “Duh!”

Family.

Friendship.

Fun.

Food.

Freedom.

(And of course, the f word we all know and love in our own sick ways. But in keeping with a promise I made to myself and my readers of this blog, I will be first class and lady-like all the way and not spell it out. Again, I know what you are thinking, and I like it.)

But honestly, the title of this post has nothing (well, maybe just a little) to do with that f word and everything to do with the f word called “freedom.”

Oh yes. Just let that word roll off your tongue. It’s pure ecstasy. Freedom. Freedom. Say it several times and you will be hypnotized, seduced, and ready to get yourself as much of it as you can.

That’s why you’re here, after all, isn’t it? Because your desire for freedom has become greater than your willingness to put up with the nonsense of your overcrowded life. Working for someone else. Not having time to do what you want. Passionless, robotic, mind-numbing nonsense day after day after day. Welcome to the club of the converted! We feel your pain and totally get why you are looking to do something different.

Change is a wonderful thing and although it is not without its own brand of pain, it beats what you are suffering now.

The f word is here and ready for the taking. We are here to help you get it. Are you ready?

Onward!

  • Hey Mary,

I am not going to lie, I wish this post was longer. I hope there is a part two coming because I really feel like you have much more to say on this topic, ‘The F Word’. Yes, it is different context than my post but the message is still the same. That post of mine has been one of my most popular. I am really glad you left me a comment on my blog so that I could come to yours. I actually received your Facebook request as I was reading your post! How awesome. Anyway, I am going to hop around your blog for awhile and take in some more of your literature. Thanks again Mary!

  • Hey Clifton,
Glad you stopped by. I appreciate the suggestion of writing a Part 2, and indeed, will get to that soon. There is always so much to say, isn’t there! Glad we have connected and can learn from each other! Best.
